Plus-Size Ethnic Wear for Women by BIBA

For a long time, plus-size women were given a separate, smaller section at the back of the store. Fewer styles, fewer colours, fewer options, as if the clothes were an afterthought rather than a collection. BIBA has never believed that is how it should work.

BIBA's plus-size clothing collection is the same collection. The same prints, the same silhouettes, the same fabrics, the same attention to how a garment is cut and finished, available in sizes that fit more women rather than fewer. From plus-size suits for women for weddings and festive celebrations to relaxed plus-size kurta setsfor everyday wear, every piece is designed to fit well, feel comfortable, and look exactly as good on a size 2XL as it does on a size S. Because that is what good clothing is supposed to do.

What the Collection Includes

1. Plus-Size Suit Sets

A well-cut plus-size suit set changes what getting dressed feels like. When the fabric sits right at the shoulder, the kurta falls to the right length, and the silhouette is designed for the body wearing it rather than scaled up from a smaller size, the result is an outfit that feels genuinely tailored rather than approximate. BIBA's plus-size suits for women are available across straight, A-line, Anarkali, gathered, and flared silhouettes in cotton, chanderi, and festive fabrics for every occasion from the office to a wedding reception.

2. Plus-Size Kurtas and Tops

The plus-size kurta set is the most versatile piece in the collection, and the one most women reach for most often. Relaxed fits that breathe well, prints that work across seasons, and silhouettes designed to look considered rather than simply comfortable. BIBA's plus-size kurtas are available in cotton for everyday wear, embroidered options for festive occasions, and straight and A-line cuts that work across a wide range of body types without requiring any adjustment.

3. Plus-Size Dresses

Plus-size dresses for women at BIBA cover the full range of what a dress should do. Tiered cotton dresses for casual summer days. Flared and A-line silhouettes for festive occasions. Midi and maxi lengths in prints and solids that photograph well and feel even better to wear. Every plus-size dress in the collection is cut with the same intention as every other size, for a woman who wants to look beautiful, not just covered.

4. Plus-Size Fusion Wear

Plus-size ethnic wear does not have to mean only traditional silhouettes. BIBA's plus-size fusion collection includes co-ord sets, asymmetric styles, kaftan kurtas with wide-leg pants, and contemporary silhouettes that sit naturally between ethnic and modern dressing. These are the pieces for the plus-size woman whose personal style has never been easy to categorise and who deserves clothing that reflects that rather than simplifying it.

Fabrics in BIBA's Plus-Size Collection

Cotton

Cotton is the most practical and honest choice for everyday plus-size clothing. It breathes through long hours of wear, holds prints cleanly, and moves comfortably with the body rather than against it. A cotton plus-size kurta set in a good fabric with a considered print is the piece that earns its place in the regular rotation and stays there. Best for daily wear, office dressing, and casual occasions. Care tip: wash in cold water on a gentle cycle and dry in the shade.

Chanderi

Chanderi gives a plus-size suit set a natural sheen and a lightweight elegance that heavier fabrics take considerably more effort to achieve. The fabric drapes beautifully across the silhouette and carries embroidery and prints with a refinement that makes even a simple design feel genuinely special. Best for festive occasions, family functions, and celebrations. Care tip: hand wash gently or dry clean and store folded.

Cotton Blend

Cotton blend fabrics give a plus-size kurta set a slightly more structured finish than pure cotton while maintaining the breathability that makes all-day wear comfortable. These hold their shape well through long hours and travel without creasing badly. Best for office wear, travel, and semi-formal occasions. Care tip: wash in cold water and hang to dry.

Plus-Size Ethnic Wear for Every Occasion

For weddings and festive functions: A plus-size suit set in chanderi or embroidered fabric in a deep festive tone is the most appropriate and beautiful choice for formal celebrations. Anarkali and flared silhouettes in richer fabrics carry the occasion naturally without requiring heavy embellishment to feel special.

For the office: A cotton plus-size kurta set in a straight or A-line silhouette with slim pants or straight trousers is the most professional and comfortable choice for workdays. Clean prints, simple necklines, and breathable fabrics that hold their shape through a full day.

For casual and everyday occasions: A relaxed plus-size kurta in cotton with palazzos or wide-leg pants is the most wearable everyday option. Easy to put on, easy to wear through the day, and consistently good to reach for.

For parties and evening events: A fusion co-ord set or a plus-size dress in a festive fabric with embellished detailing is the most fashion-forward choice for evening occasions. These are the pieces that feel current and personal rather than simply appropriate.

For festive celebrations: A plus-size ethnic wear piece in a vibrant print, a flared silhouette, and a coordinated dupatta carries the energy of the festive season naturally. These are the outfits worn to Diwali dinners, Eid gatherings, and Navratri celebrations where dressing up is part of the joy.

Size Guide for Plus-Size Collection at BIBA

BIBA's plus-size clothing is available in sizes S to 5XL across all categories.

To find the right size, measure your bust at the fullest point, your natural waist at the narrowest, and your hips at the widest point. Compare these against the full-size chart available at biba.in.

Why Buy Plus-Size Ethnic Wear from BIBA

BIBA has been designing Indian ethnic wear for over 35 years. The plus-size ethnic wear collection is not a separate range or a smaller afterthought. It is the same collection, designed to the same standard, available to more women.

With 300+ stores pan-India and the full plus-size clothing range available at biba.in, finding a suit, kurta, dress, or fusion piece that fits well and looks genuinely beautiful has never been more straightforward. Every piece is crafted in ISI-certified fabrics under ethical and sustainable manufacturing practices.

Good clothes should fit every woman. That has always been BIBA's position, and this collection is the proof of it.
